Eligibility

Typically a bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognised university, age and attempt limits as in that year’s FPSC CSS advertisement. Confirm every rule on fpsc.gov.pk.

Pattern

1) MCQ-based Preliminary Test (MPT) as screening. 2) Written compulsory and optional papers. 3) Medical, psychological assessment, and viva voce for those who qualify.

Syllabus

Compulsory cluster usually includes English (precis & composition, grammar), Essay, General Science & Ability, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, and Islamic Studies (or an notified alternative). Optional papers are chosen from FPSC groups. Always use the official syllabus PDF for the year you are applying.

Study plan

Weeks 1–4: English precis, grammar drills, and a daily current-affairs note. Weeks 5–8: Pakistan Affairs constitution + history, plus one optional subject outline. Weeks 9–12: Timed MCQ sets (MPT style), past-paper style questions, and a mock interview.
